What If They Passed Single-Payer and Didn't Tell Anyone? - WashingtonPost.com : The Wyden folks quietly slipped in an amendment giving states enormous flexibility to experiment upward. Essentially, states can ask the federal government for a waiver that allows them to keep the federal funds they're receiving and do pretty much anything they want with them, so long as the coverage they provide is "at least as comprehensive as required under the Chairman’s Mark" . . . . If we don't end up with a public option at the federal level, at least have the ability for states to broaden the public participation in the system. The states are often considered, and allowed to be, crucibles of experimentation for policies like this. It's got the potential to do some real good.
I read that book by Isabella Pedersen that the article quoted. Pretty cool! I can't wait to see what the next round of stuff looks like!
ReplyDeleteSo crazy. I still don't understand what draws people so strongly to that. Watching other people play video games is actually one of my least favorite things.
Jeez. I can't believe that it was still growing. Those things are crazy! Pretty soon they're going to run out of big things to put -saur after... I just have to say that I'm getting a little bit tired of sauropods breaking their own records. I think it's about time we discovered some new dinosaur paradigm that's totally different

ReplyDeleteThe Isabella Pederson book seems pretty cool - we should talk more about MICA. I know a fair amount about that deal and what they are looking at doing.
